Bad Bot Access
What It Means
This request was identified as coming from a bot that has been banned. This includes most SEO bots, scrapers, and other automated applications. Requests from Google and Bing crawlers are automatically allowed and are not affected by this rule.
Why It Matters
Bad bots consume your server resources, scrape your content, inflate your analytics, and may probe for vulnerabilities. The WAF maintains a continuously updated list of known bad bot signatures.
Common Triggers
Requests from known scraper user agents, SEO analysis tools, content theft bots, or vulnerability scanners.
What To Do
These blocks are generally correct. If a legitimate service is being blocked, check whether it identifies itself with a known bot user agent. You can allowlist specific IPs via the IP Allowlist for services you trust, or contact support if you need a specific bot unblocked.
